The exterior angles of a triangle measure x°, (2x)°, and (3x)°. What is the value of x? A. 60 B. 72 C. 30 D. 45

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sum of the interior angles is 180 se was can put \[x+2x+3x=180\] and solve for \(x\) \[6x=180\] one more step

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So to find that answer, do I find a number that plugs into x that will get it to equal 180?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you could do that but it would be quicker to divide 180 by 6 instead of guessing and checking

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i mean yes, that is what you want, but to find it, divide \(180\div 6\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So then my answer would be, C. 30!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes that does it!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you very much for taking the time to help me! (: I appreciate it! <3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think it would be A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i could learn to read it says EXTERIOR ANGLES doesn't it damn

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and they add up to 360 so we must solve \[x+2x+3x=360\] \[6x=360\] \[x=360\div 6=60\] sorry about that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

addition of supplement of exterior angles is 180
