Select the pair of equations whose graphs are perpendicular. A. 2x – 8y = 9 12x – 3y = 7 B. 3x + 6y = 8 y = 2x – 8 C. y = 2x – 7 x + y = 3 D. 2y = –3x + 5 2x + 3y = 4 is there any other way to solve this other than graphing?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

work out the slope of each equation. Perpendicular lines have opposite reciprocal slopes, i.e. \(m_1=-\frac{1}{m_2}\)

OMG THANKS SO MUCH!! ahha I needed to know what the relationship between each slope was for what kind. and for future stuff, what about parralel? what will the slopes be like then?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Parallel lines have the same slope.
