What is the distance between the points (4, 7) and (4, –5)? A.0 units B.2 units C.4 units D.12 units

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know how to use the distance formula?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no i do not

OpenStudy (anonymous):

after looking at those points, you don't really need the distance formula... look at those two points you notice anything peculiar about them?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not really

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they have the same x-coordinate... which means their on the same vertical line... just count the number of units to get from one point to the other... since one point is at y=-5, to get to y=7 you'll have to move how many units up? |dw:1336418023488:dw|
