whats the control group? A) Cars with the Standard Tire B) Cars with the Radial Tire C) Hondas D) Fords A new radial tire was being tested. The new tire was put on 20 Hondas and each driven for 10,000 miles on a freeway. The tread wear was measured and compared to the wear from the standard tires driven on 20 other Honda cars, each driven for 10,000 freeway miles.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

The control group is the group that's using the status quo (compared to the new experimental group) You're testing tires (not cars). So the control group is A) Cars with the Standard Tire

OpenStudy (anonymous):

experimental group?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

the group you're testing (and making adjustments to), so B) Cars with the Radial Tire

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it B?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and what is the tretment? i dont even know what that means

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it the tread wear?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

hmm let me look it up to be extra sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

these are mt options A) Type of Tire B) Type of Car C) Tread Wear D) Miles Driven

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

I'm thinking D because "treatment" means the level in which you're applying/testing the experimental group.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it says they drive 10,000 miles but what they're looking at is the tread wear

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

so C was the actual answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its actually A

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

hmm sorry I guess I don't know that term as well as I should

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its ok. thanks for helping :)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

you're welcome
