The new science of Copernicus, Brahe, Kepler, & Galileo challenged the foundation of medieval science and the claims of the church because of how the new theories went against church beliefs and general church thinking. The church believed that the Aristotelian theories were correct because they did not go against the boundaries of God, whereas the other ideas of the Scientific Revolution did.
