Solve √2x+3-√x+1=1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Put \[a=\sqrt{2x+3}\] and \[b=\sqrt{x+1}\],a,b>0 We have a system of equation : first is \[a^2-2b^2=1\] second is \[a-b=1\]

OpenStudy (kropot72):

Is this the question? \[\sqrt{2x}+3-\sqrt{x}+1=1\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so I have a confusion for your exercise huh? =.=

OpenStudy (kropot72):

Factorise as follows: \[\sqrt{x}(\sqrt{2}-1)=-3\] \[\sqrt{x}=-\frac{3}{\sqrt{2}-1}\] \[x=\frac{9}{3-2\sqrt{2}}\]

Thanks i got it

OpenStudy (kropot72):

You're welcome :)
