what is da difference b/w linear and angular velocity?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

linear velocity is defined as the rate of change of displacement. its related to translational motion. angular velocity is defined as the rate of change of angular displacement and is related to rotational motion

OpenStudy (don3):

The time rate of change of position along a fixed direction is called linear velocity. Velocity=Displacement/Time elapsed The magnitude of the angular velocity is the rate of change of angular displacement with time or it is the angle swept out by the radius vector in one second. \[\omega=\theta/t\]
