Question

Hey guys, I'm writing a song for my composition class and I'm TOTALLY STUCK! I have the melody and a piano score written, but I have no idea what to write my lyrics about. It's a slow-ish song with a powerful chorus, just piano and vocal. Ideas?

After much thought, I've decided it's going to be about loss. Of love, specifically. I wrote lyrics to the bridge, but I still need help with the rest of it. The bridge goes: Fell to the dirt/My castle's burnt/I never learned/Don't trust the flirt

listen to the beatles...listening to them has helped A LOT of musicians write contemporary music...after all their era started contemporary muic (although i do not blame them for the musical catastrophes of recent music eras lol)

my style of writing lyrics leans towards the 70s lol =)) idk if youll like that..but i do believe that 70s-80s is the golden age of pop :p
