How to combine these two power series?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\sum_{n=0}^{\infty}C_n*x^(n+1) + \sum_{n=0}^{\infty}D_n*x^n\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the parser is messed up the first one, the x term on the first one is x^(n+1).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just think of the second one as \[Dn+\sum_{n=0}^{\infty} Dn*x ^{n+1}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the Dn is D0 (initial one)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So you place D_0 outside, but what about D_n inside, wouldn't that need to be D_(n+1)? Not just D_n?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya it shuld be D_n+1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\sum_{n=0}^{\infty}C_n*x^(n+1) + D_0 + \sum_{n=0}^{\infty}D_k*x^k | (where: k=n+1)\] Is basically the answer right?

I think a I got it now, thanks for your help, I was really stuck. =D
