OK Jason, capillaries supply blood to the body's tissues. Specifically, the blood brings oxygen to the tissues and carries CO2 out of them. Hemoglobin is a transport protein - it binds to oxygen and carries it in, then it unbinds the oxygen, binds CO2 and carries CO2 out.
