guys, i nedd some help with this question it's no. 45 in the first practice exam in cliffs: Which of the following is the dominant reaction as blood flows through the pulmonary capillaries? (Hb = hemoglobin) A. H2CO3 → H+ + HCO3 B. H2O + CO2 → H2CO3 C. Hb + 4CO2 → Hb(CO2)4 D. Hb(O2)4 → Hb + 4O2 E. Hb + 4O2 → Hb(O2)4 I don't get it at all? can somebody please elucidate it for me? thanks!

OpenStudy (blues):

OK Jason, capillaries supply blood to the body's tissues. Specifically, the blood brings oxygen to the tissues and carries CO2 out of them. Hemoglobin is a transport protein - it binds to oxygen and carries it in, then it unbinds the oxygen, binds CO2 and carries CO2 out. Is that clear?
