What is produced by photosynthesis?

OpenStudy (blues):

The word itself gives you a hint. "Photo-" means light. And "Synthesis" means to make things. Photosynthesis uses the energy in light to make bonds between carbon atoms it takes from carbon dioxide from the air - that is, it uses light energy to make sugars (also called carbohydrates.)

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

Carbon dioxide and water and a photon make sugar and oxygen\[6CO_2+6H_2O\rightarrow^{h\nu}\rightarrow C_6H_{12}O_6 +6O_2\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

carbondioxide.

@shruti carbon dioxide is not produced? its consumed. that's why we plant trees to recede our CO2 emissions.
