Please answer. :) Justin measured the flow of water through a hose. He recorded that 6 gallons of water flowed in 3 minutes and 42 gallons of water flowed in 21 minutes. If the rate of flow stays the same, which equation can be used to predict the number of gallons of water flow in 56 minutes? Let g represent the number of gallons of water and t represent the number of minutes.
g = 2t
how?
you know that in 3 minutes, 6 gallons flowed - twice as many gallons as the amount of time that passed. In 21 minutes, 42 gallons flowed - also twice as many gallons as the time that's passed. g = 2t -- 6 =2(3) and 42 = 2(21) make sense? so if you know the number of minutes that have passed, you can multiply that to know the number of gallons that have flowed.
thank you soooo much.
