Cell theory states that every organism is made of cells. And every cell came from an existing cell. But what about the first cell? Pasteur showed that a cell cant appear spontaneously. Where it came from?

This is an area of much active research

The answer is probably a self replicating molecule which possibly, over time, came to resemble something similar to a catalytic RNA molecule ~ but that is still *highly* speculative.
