A bar of chocolate is subdivided by grooves into 40 segments,arranged in 5 rows and 8 columns. How many times does one have to break the bar to get all 40 segments?

You need to break it 7 times to get it into 8 columns, and then each column 4 times to break into 5 pieces in each column.
