Question

find the verticies and foci:

1. x^2 + 4y^2 =16
2. 2x^2 + y^2=3

if i multiply (1) out by 1/4 i get:
x^2/4 + y^2 = 4
this isnt in standard form: x^2/a^2 + y^2/b^2 = 1

what else do i need to do?

for the first equation, multiply both sides by 1/16....
the second, multiply by 1/3
