Table salt has a solubility of 36 g of salt in 100 g of water at 40°C. If 15 g of the salt are added to 50 g of water at the same temperature, is the resulting solution saturated or unsaturated? Explain please

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

36 g salt ---> 100 g water x g salt ----> 50 g water Simple ratio-proportion. so, 36 100 -- = --- x 50 Now if x is greater 15 g of salt (that you added), then it's unsaturated.
