there are several methods for this..i'll show you one : consider numerator : 3m^2 + 9m - 54 9m can be written as 18m - 9m thus we have numerator = 3m^2 + 18m - 9m - 54 taking common and performing simple operations,,we have numerator = (3m -9)(m+6) which on division by denominator leaves only 3m -9 .. hope this helps ^^
