guys, i have 3 questions in cliffs second test: http://i49.tinypic.com/5ywb9i.jpg why is the answer in this one D? I solved it E. Shouldn't a parasite live on the host? If it laid its eggs on it or something, isn't that a parasitoid? and http://i50.tinypic.com/2rraq07.jpg I don't get any of this one lol and this is the title for the question: http://i45.tinypic.com/4qg7c3.jpg and the question itself: http://i45.tinypic.com/sl3ckz.jpg why is the answer E and not A?
For your first question: you kind of have the reasoning right, but the terms reversed. Parasite is a general term for something that profits off another organism. Parasitoids do profit off their hosts, but also eventually kill them. Much more severe :P See this for more info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brood_parasite
here if u see the ans goes to D as here cukoo is getting benefit a it egg are being protected as warbler think cukoo egg is its egg and care for it like a mother in turn cukoo pushed the egg of warbler down means loss to warbler bird so its like a host and parasite relation here host is warbler bird everytime get bluff by cukoo bird(parasite)
in second point of view the answer of your first question is d because the parasite prevent the host from reproduction and dont kill the host generally, but in paratisoidal relationship the host is killed before it can reproduce. here also the warbler is not killed but was prevented to continue its race..... in indirect way.... i think.... so....!!!!!
