Linear programming A carpenter makes two types of tables, x and y. He has 600m² floor space available. Table x requires 50 m² of floor space and table y requires 60 m². He can only afford to invest R1600 in equipment that amounts to R160 per table x and R100 per table y. He does not have enough skilled labourers to make more than 6 tables of type x. The profit on each type of the table is the same.
