if a+b=23 and a^2-b^2=23, then what is the value of A?

OpenStudy (accessdenied):

I think probably the easiest way to do it is to factor a^2 - b^2 since I know that it factors to include a term with "a+b", ripe for substitution of the first equation. Then you would just have a system of equations.
