How do I find the exact values of the other two trig. ratios for cos thetha = -4/7, quadrant III?
I don't understand why the hypotenuse would be positive and the adjacent would be negative.. /:

well you dont honestly need to know that just know that in quadrant 3 tangent is positive and the other two are negative

well in quad 3 the cosine is negative because it is the x value and sine is also negative because it is the y value |dw:1336698031416:dw| so the sine and cosine will be negative because the hypotenuse is always positive and any negative over a positive is negative. The tangent is positive because a negative over a negative is positive
