assuming the 220 is the length of the hypotonuse I think you can just evaluate ussing 220 * sin40

Well because you have to picture yourself standing on the given angle. Cosine is the adjecent and sine is oppossite. Adjecent means just right next to you and oppossite means the side in front of you aka oppossite of the angle.
