question 9 Find the volume for the regular pyramid.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hi

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oof. i got this one wrong. but i think i get it now. okay. so all sides are 4 and it's a triangular pyramid. and you have to find the volume. again. so 1/3*BH it's an equilateral triangle so you remember this ( https://media.glynlyon.com/a_matgeo_2011/7/arad3.gif)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but cant you put show answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup i do

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(i know what the answer is)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

soooo then you plug it all in and 1/4*16sqrt3 is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4 sqrt3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes. so that's the base. (since it's only one triangle. ) now as for the height. it's 1/2*4sqrt3 which is 2 sqrt3 so you have the height. 4sqrt3 times 2 sqrt 3 is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

24 sqrt3 ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

D: that wrong?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope. just 24 :) NOW you divide that by 3 and get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait wait wait.. why not sqrt 3??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

WOOPS. they have it in some dumb form. UGH DKJSL

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-.- i hae these aoa people that make those hard questionss!!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hate*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ahhhhhhh i hate this.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-.- iknow

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the simplified answer is 24/3 which is 8.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:l

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:| so. i hope i helped. this is dumb. i'm sorry.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its okayy:) thank youu

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i really appreciate it!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

pleasure:] any other ones? hopefully they arent dumb.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hahaha yeah.. 5 i really dont understand the freakend srqt!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

waiit... is #6 144?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ahha alright. SO.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

with this question, they want you to understand how to find the total area. and use the formula that they give you. which is "the sum of the lateral area and the area of the base." thats what they say in the lesson. SO. https://media.glynlyon.com/a_matgeo_2011/7/groupi75.gif we already found the base to this one. remember?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(yes its 144 for #6)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay:) yeah we found the base. so now we just find the LA..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which is.. wait tell me if its right...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

72?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes! good job:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

YAY!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so lateral area plus the base 72 plus? _____

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait what was the base...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hold on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

was it 40?..no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

base: 24sqrt3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

from the other question:D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and put it together?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

96 sqrt 3??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait wait.. the answer is already there nvm nvm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha no:D try again

OpenStudy (anonymous):

72+24 sqrt 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yay! you're awesome

OpenStudy (anonymous):

youre awesomerrr ! just for understanding math!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

any other?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

11 please:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(dont worry, the pyramid ones took me 7 tries.:D hehehe)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hahaha but you got it!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh, okay:D did you get 10?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

noo:(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im scared of sqrts!!D:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha okay. we'll do 10 and 11.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do you find the slide height

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you rock my socks girl..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the slant length?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah that.. for number 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the slant lenth if you look at it differently, is just a hypotenuse to a right triangle.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:Omygosh yeah!! youre so smart girl!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hold on let me work it and then u tell me if its right
