It depends on the context I think.. You could write it like:The quote "You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them." was taken from Maya Angelou's book "Letter to My Daughter".  or you could also write it without "the quote" in the beginning and write it after the quote instead.
