(tanx+coty)/(tanxcoty)=tany+cotx

OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):

whats the ques? relation between x and y ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what to do with it..? if you are saying to prove LHS=RHs that is pretty obvious..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the question in verify the identity. i have to solve the left side of the equation to make it look like that right.

OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):

infact @rs32623 ,,LHS = RHS only when x=2npi +pi/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@shubhamsrg and what about y?

OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):

its a bit incorrect..please re check the ques.. according to this,,LHS = tan y+ tan x ,,which is not your RHS

OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):

@rs32623 y can be anything,,as tan y is common to both LHS and RHS

OpenStudy (anonymous):

LHS=(tanx+coty)/(tanxcoty) =tanx/(tanxcoty)+coty/(tanxcoty) =1/coty+1/tanx =tany+cotx=RHS hence proved.

OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):

lol..am so sorry sir,,i by mistake treated 1/tan x as tan x.. really really sorry.. yes you're right ^_^
