Two similar cylinders are shown in the image below. If the smaller cylinder has a lateral area of approximately 302 square meters, what is the approximate lateral area of the larger cylinder? 1,618.5 square meters 924.9 square meters 528.5 square meters 98.6 square meters

Well the formula is La = 2(PI)rh, so lets enter what we already know of the smaller cylinder and find the radius 302 = 2(3.14)r(16) 302 =32(3.14)r 302 =100.48r 302/100.48 = r 3 = r now lets find the similarity between them 16/28 = 4/7; (3 / 4) =3/4 3/4 * 7 = 21/4 21/4 = 5.25 now lets find the lateral area for the larger one; La= 2(pi)rh La =2(3.14)(5.25)(28) La =2(3.14)147 La =294(3.14) La =923.16 Which is approximately the second answer choice; its not exact since their are other values for (pi) like 3.142857143, but i just used the smaller one since its easier and their were answer choices
