5x + 4y = 18

2x + y = 6
y = -2x + 6

5x + 4(-2x + 6) = 18
5x -8x + 24 = 18
-3x = 18 - 24
-3x = -6
x = -6/-3
x = 2
y = -2(2) + 6
y = -4 + 6
y = 2
5(2) + 4y = 18
10 + 4y = 18
4y = 18 - 10
4y = 8
y = 8/4
y = 2
