Does anyone know an easy way to describe permutations? I dont understand them no matter what i do i just cant understand. =_=

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1.A way, esp. one of several possible variations, in which a set or number of things can be ordered or arranged.

OpenStudy (kinggeorge):

Suppose you have a line of balls that are each colored differently. A permutation is a certain ordering of the balls. So let's say you have red, green, and blue balls. Some different permutations are red, green, blue red, blue, green green, red, blue blue, green, red And so on.
