Mr. Mathers opened a new package of graph paper the contained 50 sheets of paper. He gave the same number of sheets to each of 8 students. He had more than 12 sheets of graph paper left. Which is the greatest nukber of sheets of graph paper that Mr. Mathers could have given to each student? F. 3 G. 4 H. 5 J. 6 K. 7

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

He has 50 sheets total. Since he is left with 12 sheets, this means that he's dividing up 50-12 = 38 sheets of graph paper. Now divide 38 into 8 38/8 = 4 remainder 6 This means that each student gets up to at most 4 sheets of graph paper.
