Did anyone here attend Kumon Learning Centre? (US or Canada)? Did it help? D; I'm 16 in junior high school who is terrible in math, and contemplating whether to attend Kumon this summer :$ My teacher adviser believes that attending Kumon will help me, and honestly I'll do ANYTHING to get better at it. Any tips, advices?
get a tutor! difinately WILL help!
a tutor? is it better than learning centres?
idk never been to a learning centre..
oh :(
i think tutor u need to pay them rather than learning center is for free, that i think
tutorial will help you if you afford to pay but if not I rather suggest self study or try asking help from friends or any person that will help you a lot :))
do you know any self-study books? and did anyone you know benefit from the self-study?
Well, it all depends upon the subject you're studying. Which math are you taking?
I'm currently taking Functions in grade 11 and I have a 78% average.. :( I also just did a unit test yesterday, which was trig and I swear to my life that I know I failed it >:( I only studied for a day and just did the test to "get it over with".
I think tutorial will help you a lot
which is a mistake I won't ever do again --- hopefully. My teacher adviser who's also a Functions teacher helps me as much as he can and I have a senior tutor who helps me too sometimes at lunch. But I guess it was my fault in the beginning.
Okay. Boy - I definitely sympathize, with you!!!! :) I can't imagine how awful it must be. Well, if I were you, I'd Google some study books that are full of explanations and examples. You will have to hunt around a bit, to find one that suits your needs/learning style. As far as the Learning Center goes - I think that it would be a good idea to go. Is it like a summer camp, or is it an actual learning center? While you're their, hopefully you'll be able to really ask questions and practice hard. If I were you, I would take as many routes as I could possibly go - get study books, a tutor (within your/your family's budget), and go to the summer camp. However, I would first do a little research on what the camp is about, what you will learn, how in-depth of a study you'll be doing, and how much one-on-one help you'll be getting. If you aren't pleased with the level of learning/help that the camp will be providing, I would suggest not going. Maybe you could try a place like the Sylvan Learning Center.
thank you guys so much for all the advices!!! Really I appreciate it!
Oh, you're very welcome! I completely understand what you're going through. I actually JUST finished the chapter on functions, as well (I'm also a junior, taking Algebra 2). I sincerely wish you the best! :)
