doubts on matrices P.S. i am 90 percent sure of the answers bt still to make it 100 percent
1.square matrices can be mulltiplied only if they are of the same order? 2.What is the order of the product matrix got by multiplying 2 square matrices of same order? 3.Does a skew matrix always have diagonal elements =0? 4.Does diagonal elements=0 always imply the matrix is skew symmetric?
these are the doubts which came when i studied matrix chapter in my textbook
@FoolForMath , @apoorvk , @dpaInc , @AccessDenied , @estudier , @Mani_Jha , @asnaseer
help pls
1. yes. basically for two matrices of order (mxn) and (ixj) to be mutipliable, m = j. Now you can guess what happens in the case of square matrices.
k i was 97 percent sure of 1st one :P
2. Same as the order of each square matrix.
Okay let's do something. Try to guess the last two. (and put forward any reason you think for your answer). You know what skew-matrices are?
ys
i think diagonal elements always will be 0
@asnaseer has posted wonderful link, it's well organised and quite informative. Go through that to clear your theory doubts. Then try to guess the last two. :)
3.i think diagonal elements always will be 0 4.i think that also is true am i wrong?
thx @asnaseer
nw i think 4 is false
3. Yes, you are right. reasons? ;) 4 Nope. (HINT: All skew-matrices have diagonal elements zero, but all matrices with diagonal elements zero aren't skew - try to remember the way it's defined)
Yeah 4. is false. Clear with this? :)
ya thx a lot :)
are u good in relations and functions?
...........
I don't know what am good at, but you can always ask, and I can always try :P
