Write the slope intercept equation for the line that passes through (2,-9) and (4,1)

OpenStudy (australopithecus):

EQUATION OF THE LINE MEMORIZE THIS y = mx + b b is the y-intercept m is the slope thus you can rearrange the equation where b = y - mx

OpenStudy (australopithecus):

i gave you the equation to calculate the slope in an earlier thread and you know how to find the y intercept

OpenStudy (australopithecus):

set x = 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok Ill try it

OpenStudy (australopithecus):

in this problem though you would simply solve for b by inserting one of your points into the equation of the line

OpenStudy (australopithecus):

so find the slope then choose one of the points provided and sub it into the equation, im using (2,-9) b = (-9) - m(2) if you have the slope you can solve for b and get the equation of the line

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok I think I got it thanks so much

OpenStudy (australopithecus):

no problem
