It says your goal is to search the Internet or your surroundings to find a pair of congruent or similar triangles. If one or both of the triangles you find are online, they may come complete with the dimensions you need. If not, you can print out the triangle images and measure the side lengths with a ruler and the angles with a protractor. Obviously, these are not the actual dimensions, but the image is a similar triangle to the original, so these dimensions will work.

OpenStudy (stacey):

You could look at structures such as the Eiffel Tower, bridges or domes in architecture. You would likely find similar triangles there. Most domes, triangles for billiards, and yield signs are equilateral, which means they are similar.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got a yield sign. How do i find the lengths of the sides if the sides aren't given?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok but what did you say it was again

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have to find the dimensions of the yield sign

OpenStudy (stacey):

Print out the triangle images and measure the side lengths with a ruler and the angles with a protractor.
