What is the median of this data set? 186, 124, 149, 177, 130, 141, 131, 130 i put the in order aDDED THE TWO MIDDLE ONES AND DIVIDED BY TWO I GET 76 BUT ITS NOT THAT WHAT AM i DOING WRONG?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

have you rearranged them in ascending order before taking the average of the middle ones?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

well, the average of 2 numbers that are greater than 100 will definantly NOT be less than 100

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes wait biggest to smallest not smallest to biggest?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

it doesnt matter...you just take the middle

OpenStudy (amistre64):

doesnt matter, the middle numbers are the same ragardless

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wel the n i did that , 131 and 141 were the ones i added

OpenStudy (amistre64):

which 2 numbers did you use?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

add em up

OpenStudy (anonymous):

136 rigth

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

i would assume that the problem was a syntax problem (if you used calculator) or misdivision

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes sorry thanks

OpenStudy (amistre64):

131 +141 ------ 272

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes divided by 2 thank u

OpenStudy (amistre64):

OpenStudy (amistre64):
