Simplify (a^5b^2 - a^3b^4)/(a^2b + ab^2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a^2b(a-b)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How did you get that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So are you left with 1/ab^2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

take 'a^3b^2' common in numerator and 'ab' common in denominator.\[a ^{3}b ^{2}(a ^{2} - b ^{2}) / ab(a + b)\]\[a ^{2}b(a -b)(a+b)/(a+b)\]\[a ^{2}b(a -b)\]\[a ^{3}b - a ^{2}b ^{2}\]
