OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

exact?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

with no calculators??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think calculators are allowed:)

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

oh then plug it in the calculator :p

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have to explain how to do it and thats my problem:/

OpenStudy (amistre64):

a calculator wont give an exact result

OpenStudy (alexwee123):

rationalize the denominator

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

rationalize @amistre64 it wont?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

3/sqrt(8) IS an exact result ... might not be simplified, but its exact

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

oh..oh yeah irrational :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then what i need help is to simplify it

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

rationalize...you know how?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

multiply the denominator by itself. then find the square root...so would it be 3/ 8 im confused

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im blank

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

no no...multiply the denominator AND numerator by \(\sqrt 8\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh yeah!! so 3 √8 over 8?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):
