a) is not a function because it has 2 values of y for the same x;
but u can just use the vertical line test and cut it through once and that means it's a function?
u don't need 2 state the domain and range for the questions, that i can figure it out for most of them.
b) is a function for the same reason (a) isn't. the domain is D={-3,-1,0,1,2} and the range is {-2,-1,1,3}
so as long as there are two values of y for the same x then it's not a function?
yep. a binary relation f(x) is a function if and only if, for each x, there is only one f(x) associated.
