If y is 4.5 when x is 3, and y varies directly with x, find y when x is 9. 1.5 7.5 10.5 13.5
The equation between x and y (because they vary directly) would be y=ax, or x=ay. THere is a common ratio between x and y. Find the common ratio, and use it to determine y from x.
Also, if anyone else wants to help, please do not include the answer in any form, EVEN AFTER WORK. This user will simply (unfortunately) just take the answer and run away.
\(\Large \color{Midnightblue}{\rightarrow 4.5:3::y:9 }\) Solve this proportion.
We know that it is a proportion because "y varies directly with x"
^^ Yes.
What made you get that answer?
Some alien. I guess math is different on that planet :P
Maybe they are doing math in a different base.
I think 2 + 2 is supposed to be 5 there.
@hithere , hopefully you understand at this point that best answer does not mean the person who gives the answer. It means the person who gives the best explanation. We are always willing to help you, but on the condition that you are willing to learn,and not just looking for answers.
