Angle CBD is 90 - 30 = 60 degrees So angle ABD is 90 - 60 = 30 degrees sin(angle ABD) = AD/AB sin(30) = AD/12 12*sin(30) = AD 12*(1/2) = AD 6 = AD AD = 6 cm
