(3z^-3)^2

What's the question? Is it just simplify? \[(3z^{-3})^2=9z^{-6}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes. here are the options. 3z^-6, 9/z^6, 9z^6, or 1/9z^6. I thought it was 1/9z^6. That would make your answer right as well?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am confused :(

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

remember that if it's \(\large 9z^{-6}\) the only thing with the negative exponent is x..HOWEVER if it's \((9z)^{-6}\) then 9 is raised to a negative exponent as well

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, so this means the answer would be 9/x^6.?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

yep
