Fate and destiny are the main parts because the Romeo and Juliet's families are bitter enemies, so obviously destined to marry other people. Their love seals their fate because they choose to love one another, rather than follow the destiny that their families had already planned (being children of high class families). Romeo and Juliet chose to secretly marry because they were convinced they would never love other people and would rather die in love than live with the inevitability of being married to others. They are victims of bad luck by the simple fact that they happened to fall in love without knowing who/ what family they belonged to. The misunderstanding and miscommunication is mainly the end in which Romeo is banished from the city, and Juliet's parents refuse to postpone her marriage to another man, so upon the Friar's advice she takes a sleeping potion that will make her appear dead, so she can be placed in the family tomb. The Friar (who married Romeo and Juliet) would send a letter to Romeo to get Juliet out of the tomb and they could run away. Fate/ miscommunication stops the Friar's letter, so Romeo thinks Juliet is dead. He kills himself via poison. Juliet wakes up as the Friar comes to the tomb, but after finding out what happened, she kills herself with Romeo's dagger. When Romeo and Juliet's family visit the tomb and find their children dead, they agree to end the feud between them, which shows that the feud may have ended if Romeo and Juliet had told their parents (again, miscommunication). As for affecting audience members, bear in mind that American students read this in freshman year of high school (so 14 or 15 years old). This is a time when teens have minds of their own and want to try to carve their own paths and are very into their romantic relationships. So by reading this and seeing that it's teens not talking to their parents and circumstances, it's almost a way of telling teens that even in matters of love, not everything goes the way you plan, not to assume things without communicating, etc.
can i get a medal?:)
