combine like terms: 40x-60=260
add 60 to both sides 40x=320
divide by 40 x=8 hours
8 hours x $15=120 
8 hours x $5=40
120+40=$160

That makes a lot more sense:) I tried it but I didn't simplify correctly so none of the answers seemed right.
