\[\huge \mathbb{\color{#D32B05}{`AP㋛㋡RIDDLE!!`}}\] 8 year old Aseem looks out of his window at 10 PM and finds that it's pitch dark outside. Disappointed, he goes off to sleep. He wakes up all tired, 14 hours later (yes he loves to sleep :P), and slides open his window hoping to find bright daylight shining outside, but he is disappointed once again - it's still pitch dark! He is puzzled, angry and disappointed! Can you help explain li'l Aseem what's happening?

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

P.S. - There were no eclipse forecasts, and he's very much near the equator all the time. There can be more than one reasonable answer to this situation, all I'm looking for is how imaginative we are - (doesn't require much out of the box thinking) :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@apoorvk , may be he is day dreaming because of excessive sleep :P

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

Nope :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Aseem is on a plane that took off at pm and 14 hrs later the plane crossed several time zones that made it still pm local

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and i have no idea what the details are... :(

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

i can answer this using an lgbariddle >:))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@apoorvk , I think that there were very very thick dark clouds in the sky :P

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

no it's not the clouds :S

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

yes lgba how? should i spoil the fun now? :D

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

take note of the extraordinary detail...14 hours of sleep

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

Yes, @dpaInc, this is exactly the answer I was looking for!!!!! Pretty fast and Phenomenal!!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow..., that was a guess... i'm off to Las Vegas!!!

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

I was expecting people to veer of track, but @dpaInc you made short work of it - EXACTLY what I wanted to hear :P

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

*off

OpenStudy (anonymous):

LOL, @apoorvk , how can you slide open a window of a plane :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You can only slide open the shutter

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

windows are transparent shivam :p

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

yeah you slide the "plastic panel" open after which is the the thick glass window, which you obviously can't.

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

but you can break it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@lgba, unless you want the plane to crash, never do it :P

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

Yeah you can break it - and risk the lives of all the people onboard

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

it's not going to crash.....just...go out of control due to pressure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

LOL @lgba, If the window braks, then due to pressure differece, the plan will be ripped apart mid-air

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*breaks

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

shivam is right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*plane

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

no it wont....the people will just fly out of the window....then the plane will crash....but at least people didnt die of "crash"

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

unless you are very lucky, you may be blown out.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have seen the nat -geo air crash episodes . I love them. One such thing happened too

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@lgbasallote , pressure is so intense that the plane will also break apart

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

but the people will fly out first :p

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

ive seen it ive been there..you dont want it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@lgbasallote , people who have put the seat belt won't fly out first. .

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

haha lol. btw i just came with another abstract solution. This kid is so filthy rich, that he is on tourist trip in space, and ofcourse the space looks dark from outside the atmosphere due to absence of miniscule particles which diffract light! :P (space tourism is not a myth anymore btw)

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

then the seats will fly with them...all i know is they wont die of "crash" because they wouldve been long dropped before the plane reaches ground

OpenStudy (anonymous):

LOL @ lgbasallote, if he flies with seats, then there are chances of survival because parachutes are underneath every seat :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But he should catch hold of the seat and wearing parachute mid-air is almost impossible :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

random thought: A plane is flying on the border of New Mexico and Arizona. Suddenly it crashes! Where do they bury the survivors?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jazy , in the sea :P

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

There are NO survivors!!

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

and you don't bury the survivors!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

LOL, why should they bury the survivors, LOLOL :P

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

Survivors - why would you bury them? :D let 'em live

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@apoorvk is correct:D lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

He / can survive if they wear the parachute 0.5 sec after the window broke. If he/she wears the parachute within 5 sec and then flies out, then there are chances of survival :P

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

WHY WOULD YOU LET THEM LIVE?!!! THEY SURVIVED A CRASH AND YOU LET THEM LIVE?!!! EUTHANASIA I SAY!!!!

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

@shivam_bhalla apparently the people's insides are gonna fly out :p

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

BWAHAHAHA!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

along with the debris of the plane @lgba :P

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

Btw, parachutes aren't generally provided for everyone in economy class. Only business class folks get that luxury :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@apoorvk , they are now mandatory for every class

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry man... :(

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

WHAT?!!! WHAT HAPPENED TO SOCIAL CLASSISM?!!!

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

No they are just flotation devices. In fact parachutes aren't even provided in Business Class either (I was wrong) - they just get a life jacket sort of thing, while economy class has to make use of the 'foam' seat. Check this link http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080624233147AAGDzWT @dpaInc 'sorry' what for?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@apoorvk , right :D I was confusing between life jacket and parachute :P

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

yup.
