OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea coz of temp but y in hop desert we found small size animal not big size animal?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hop=*hot

OpenStudy (anonymous):

becoz small size animal are adaptable to that condition.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y only small size not big size animal?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

actually small size means that they have greater surface area to volume ratio and can radiate heat quicker in the hot climate, there bodies don't get too hot. An increased surface area to volume ratio also means increased exposure to the environment. In the cold regions, animals are large and have less surface area to volume ratio, this is to prevent heat loss.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

As PhysicsMe said, it is due to the surface area to volume ratio. If you have a high volume (big body), your surface area will be less, thus, you will lose less energy. Like Polar Bears.

exactly @physicsme @Eshpelin wat they aid are correct adding to them this was notice by allen called as allens rule observed cold region animals ...
