Did Gatsby know that his "American Dream" was unobtainable? I put his dream was to get everything he wants such as Daisy but did he know he was never going to get his "American Dream"? The Great Gatsby plz and thanks :]
@Miss_Deva
Well, he and Daisy where in love for five years straight so he probably thought that when he came back, that he could easily win her over again but seeing how she married tom, that was not the case. So I would say no, he did not know his "American Dream" was unobtainable because he believed that when he came back that Daisy would be very much still in love with and could be easily won back.
I haven't read this book in awhile, so I'm not really clear on what his "American Dream" was besides winning over Daisy.
He actually achieved everything he wanted from his American Dream (money etc.) except Daisy.
So the answer is no, Gatsby did not know that his "American Dream" was unobtainable
i put he didn't achieve it cuz he didn't get daisy @Miss_Deva thanks :)
