Okay what do you think are the possibilities when you roll a cube or die?
Okay, \(\Large \color{midnightblue}{\rightarrow P(\text{rolling a 3}) = {\text{Number of PREFERRED outcomes} \over \text{Total Number of outcomes}} }\)
*A DIE
What are the preferred outcomes?
1/6

Yes :)
so would it be 1/3
No, 1/6
Preferred number of outcomes = 1 {3} Total outcomes = 6 {1,2,3,4,5,6} I told you the formula for probability
1,2,3,4,5,6 are the possible outcomes. that is 6 possible outcomes. you need a '3'. that is one 'preferred' outcome as Parth said. So, P = 1/6
