Assuming it's a physics class, it's the magnetosphere. In an Astronomy class the answer they're probably looking for is the Van Allen Belts.

BTW: I'd go with whichever the book mentions...not really sure which one they will want in your class. The Van Allen Belts are part of the magnetosphere btw.
