Whitch is the area of the figure? * 216cm * 168cm *144cm *192cm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i sent a picture

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh exsue me/ uhm the area is 12 cm 8cm 9cm and 6 cm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

NO you gave the lengths in the picture Im asking you what the area of any rectangle is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the formula

OpenStudy (anonymous):

dont throw a attuide with me. i need help and im trying to figure this out this is why i sign up for this website to help me in math! my math teacher is realy no help! Romero so, dont start geting smart

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A=L*w

OpenStudy (anonymous):

please just take it slow with me.. im not good at math.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First find the area of the rectangle:) its a = lw right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, Jazy thank you. A=L*W

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*144cm That's the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what are the length and width of that rectangle? Just the measurements of the rectangle.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i would like to know how i got it i just dont want the asnwer i wanna solve. Romero

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the length is the outside of the shape?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Find the length and width of just the rectangle: 8 and 9. Now solve the area of the rectangle: lw = a 8*9 = ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

72

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay i see...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you Jazy for the help(:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, keep in mind the 72 as the area for the rectangle. Now what is the formula for the area of a triangle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[area=\frac{1}{2}b*h\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

where b is the base and h is the height

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks @Romero:) so: 12*8 = and divide the quotient by 2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Follow the same steps for the second triangle whose measures are 6 and 8: 6*8 and divide that by 2. Don't forget to add up the 3 areas to get your answer: the area of the rectangle + area of triangle1 + area of triangle2 = total area of the figure! =)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

have a new math problum and i need help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

go to which is the area of the figure use 3.14

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i can't find it:/ Could you send me a link?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which is the area of the figure? use 3.14 for pie?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Im aleady at your question
