A scientist who is researching marshes observes that marsh grass, Spartina bakeri, grows to different heights at different locations in the marsh. If the scientist wants to find the reason for this difference, what is the correct first step?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A) Conduct an experiment and change only one variable at a time. B) Determine which technology would assist most in answering the question. C) Make an inference based on knowledge of the marsh. D) Establish a control group for comparison.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have no clue on this one..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would say that A isn't one, though.

OpenStudy (carniel):

B is also incorrect

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So A & B are out..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Making an inference, I don't think that'd be tight, but I'm not sure.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right* not tight.

OpenStudy (carniel):

So take that answer choose out :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but I'm not positive on it.

OpenStudy (carniel):

Dont 2nd guess yourself

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is it D or C lol. I'm horrible in biology. :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's D.

OpenStudy (carniel):

DO you know why :O?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It seems right, to me. I don't KNOW EXACTLY why, but yeah.

OpenStudy (carniel):

Just think of it as if you were doing it :)
