Katie designed an experiment to show a water cycle process. The steps of the experiment are shown below. Pour some water into a small plastic cup. Place the cup carefully into a dry zip lock bag. Zip the bag and keep it in the sun. Observe that the water droplets are dripping from the top of the bag. Which of these processes in the water cycle is demonstrated by Katie in the experiment?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i wana say either infiltration or transpiration

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Aren't the drops dripping from the bag evaporating??????lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

runoff infiltration precipitation transpiration

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i thought that two but these are my answers

OpenStudy (stormfire1):

Not sure why the answer isn't just evaporation and condensation and precipitation. By definition, transpiration, infiltration and runoff don't seem to be possible at all in a ziplog bag.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so precipitation would be my best bet to go with?

OpenStudy (stormfire1):

The process goes from evaporation -> condensation -> precipitation so if only one answer is needed, I'd say precipitation since the condensed droplets are falling in the bag.

thank you!

OpenStudy (stormfire1):

np :)
